Is it better to have a very dominant brain hemisphere or balanced hemispheres?

Okay, I lifted this from a comment I had made about an online brain hemisphere dominance test. I was hoping to get some further insight. Functionally, individuals who appear the brightest, typically have a high level of integration between the two hemispheres. While a highly lateralized brain could show a strong talent at a particular function (e.g. logic or creativity), there is a good chance it may not be observed as well as in someone with more balanced functions. Furthermore, it’s when the two hemispheres are actually able to work better together (more integrated) that higher levels of mental abilities are most often seen. A balanced brain may actually show much higher functional capacity, by being able to capitalize on strengths of both hemispheres (e.g. logic + creativity). I should point out that this is not a measure of intelligence. It’s just some thoughts on some of my meager understanding of neuropsychology.
