Is it better to go for a distance run in the morning then sprint training in the afternoon?

Depends on what you are going for. If your trying to lose weight then you should sprint in the morning as that will spike your metabolism (it’s at it’s slowest while you sleep) to it’s max earlier in the day and the residual effects of that increase in metabolism will stay with you thus ultimately burning more calories. If your trying to become more healthy or increase your physical ability then I’d suggest sprinting in the afternoon as you’ll have more food/sugar in your body therefore likely more energy to really push yourself during your sprints. I wouldn’t suggest doing them at the same time as you’ll be much more likely to half-*** one or both of them if you exhaust yourself too early.
