Is it better to cut out all sugar in a diet including fruit?
Strictly speaking the human body does not need any sugar at all. There is enough natural sugar, believe it or not, in tomatoes, cereals, veggies etc. If you were to cut out fruit altogether and eat lots of green leafy, as well as orange and purple veggies, lean protein, wholegrain cereals, you would still receive your nutrition as well as fibre. Sugar is sugar regardless of whether it comes from a honey bee, a piece of fruit of from sugar cane. Even chocolate and cakes contain so called ‘natural’ sugar, as it has originally been sourced from cane sugar. Fruit, is of course very good for you, i’m not saying not to eat it, but what i am saying is that you could live quite well without it, as long as you are eating lots of veggies etc. like i mentioned earlier. I actually have a lady who turns 93 soon, in one of my older adults aerobic classes and she has never eaten fruit, she doesn’t like it. She does eat a lot of all the other good healthy things.
