Is it better to comb hair when wet or dry?
Truly it can be just as safe to comb your hair wet or dry. The thing that will make the difference is what you are actually combing/brushing your hair with when it’s wet. If you are going to use a comb when your hair is wet, make sure that its a comb that 2 sided bristles. If you are going to use a brush, i would recommend a paddle brush but make sure that you are brushing your hair in the direction that the teeth go on the brush.
If you arent able to find that type of brush or comb, just go ahead and wait until your hair is dry. You dont want to cause split ends from breakage or stretch out the actual hair strands if you dont have to.
They say never comb or brush hair when it is wet. People say it is because of breakage or just don’t know why. The reason why you do not want to comb when wet, while it may SEEM easier it is actually causing your hair damage. When your hair is wet and you comb it, it is pulled past the point or length it actually is. This causes the strand to weaken and sometimes break or weaken. If the hair is dry it is less weak and can with stand the combing and brushing and will not stretchh past the breaking or weak point. So the answer to your question is never comb while hair is wet and if you absolutely have to. Use a wide tooth comb so that you are not weakening the hair while combing.
