Its easier but not always better. If you grow your plants from seeds, you reduce the risk of getting diseased plants. When you buy from a garden shop or greenhouse, you dont know how many plants or people they have been exposed to. Try to purchase small plants with no wilted or curled leaves from a reputable source. Add composted cow manure, lime and epsom salts to the topsoil and mulch with hay.
