Is it best when the buds on long stem roses are tight?
Not necessarily. If the long stem rose has been cut too early and the bud is too tight the rose will not open. Ecuadorian long stem roses have larger, fuller buds with more petals, which may make the rose look like it is beginning to open. Ecuadorian roses tend to open fully; reminiscence of heirloom varies of roses and hold their petals.
