Is it best to have a baby budgies wings clipped?

Some think it is better to clip for the safety of the bird, but I think it is better to let them fly, it is the natural thing for them to do and I don’t think we have the right to stop them. It also helps them keep their weight down, good exercise. As long as you keep doors and curtains closed and don’t have any mirrors in the room then your bird will be safe. I have an African Grey and have not had his wings clipped, he has not had any accident as yet and loves to fly, he flies to his cage and on to my head, he is very tame, not clipping has not affected him bonding to me.

not really if you clip a budgies wings it reduces their flight ability which basically means they think they can fly to the other end of the room but they cant,so they try and end up getting hurt or dying. also if you clip the wings it means they cant fly well which means their flight muscles will just wear away.like us lying in hospital unable to walk our leg muscles will wear away. If you are scared of letting your budgie out to fly because of the windows as people have said just close the curtains or blinds. I really wouldn’t advise.put yourself in the budgies side.would you like to sit around all day without getting out and about unable to do the things you love. NO!!
