Is it bad to wash a car with dish soap?

Dish washing soap will work in a pinch. But be aware that dish washing soap will strip the wax from your car and could possibly harm the paint finish. But it is always better to do the job right. I use Turtle Wax Zip Wax Car Wash on my car. It does a good job cleaning and even puts a light coat of wax on my car. It also won’t harm the finish. This stuff is cheap so there is no reason not to use it. A bottle costs about $5 and will wash my car dozens of times. You can find this at Wal-Mart or at any automotive parts store. There are also several other kinds of car wash soap you will find in the automotive section. All of them work well. I only mention the Turtle Wax soap because I have been using it for years and am quite satisfied with how it works.
