Is it appropriate Victorian Police are escorting the Bandidos Motorcycle Group down from Geelong today?
BRUMBY: Well, that’s a matter…as you know, it’s an operational matter, and it’s a matter for Victoria Police. And they make these decisions based on a whole range of factors and presumably they take into account safety issues and the number of riders and the impact on the road system, and they make that decision. It’s not for me to make that decision or the Minister for Police; it’s a matter for the Victoria Police and they’ve made that decision and therefore it’s one I support. REPORTER: Do we need to consider anti-bikie laws like that are in place in South Australia? BRUMBY: No, I don’t believe so. We’ve got…if you look at South Australia and Victoria, they’ve been introducing some of their own legislation in recent years, but to an extent that’s been bringing them up to the level of the organised crime laws that we’ve got in Victoria. And we’ve had in this state, under successive governments, we’ve had some of the strongest laws, I think, of any state in Australia for tackling organ
