Is it an ethics issue when a broker associate quits and takes walk-in prospect files?
This question isn’t addressed in our independent contractor agreement. But the oral understanding at my brokerage is that broker associates can retain a walk-in prospect as their customer as long as they are at the company. If they leave, they should at least leave a copy of the contact database, since walk-ins most likely result from our advertising and highly visible location. A.
