The market has been traditionally dominated by aftermarket telematics vendors and the trend is likely to continue, though there would be a marginal growth in the OEM’s market share. In case of fleet management system, aftermarket telematics vendors like Qualcomm, Transics, MiX Telematics, Punch Telematics and GreenCat hold a major portion of the market. Except Fleetboard (Daimler) and Dynafleet (Volvo Trucks) other OEM solutions are yet to gain the needed popularity among fleet operators. In addition, Frost & Sullivan believes that nearly 20 per cent of the market is highly fragmented, with many participants with local but significant presence. Consolidation of market participants is very likely in the current market condition.
