Is it acceptable to speak out against “bad” ideas in meetings?
A11: Absolutely. Not only is it acceptable, great leaders expect it. What you say and how you say it are important but, as someone once said, “Even if your entire board of directors votes for a dumb idea, it’s still a dumb idea.” For the good of the company you work for, and for your reputation, you should be courageous enough to identify bad ideas… and then come up with a good idea.
