Training provided by LEAs and Diocesan authorities is free of charge and is not compulsory to attend. However, it is highly recommended regardless of whether you are a new or experienced governor. Training will assist you with the roles and responsibilities of the governing body and will certainly help you in carrying out your role more effectively. LEA training programmes can be accessed on the training section on this website. New governors should be encouraged to attend induction training offered by the LEA.
