Is it a requirement that each Market Participant (MP) participates in each Market Trial testing phase?
To ensure that MPs are capable of successful operations in the Nodal market, ERCOT has defined readiness activities that must be completed before entering the Nodal market. Market Trials are phased releases for the purpose of ERCOT and MP incremental testing and carrying forward to go-live systems to enable all parties to test and stabilize their Nodal systems. MPs, i.e., Congestion Revenue Rights Account Holders (CRRAHs), Qualified Scheduling Entities (QSEs), Transmission Service Providers (TSPs) and Resource Entities (REs) are expected to participate in Market Trial phases including qualification testing. MPs will participate in the activities that apply to their MP type. TSPs, though not “qualified” by ERCOT protocols, will have to meet required obligations to participate and adapt to network model process and system changes.
