Is it a mistake for Andy Dillon to withhold an endorsement of Virg Bernero?
After a hard-fought primary, Speaker of the House Andy Dillon did not endorse Lansing Mayor Virg Bernero, who on the primary for the Democratic nomination for Governor on Tuesday 59-41 (Macomb Daily): Michigan House Speaker Andy Dillon says he is withholding his endorsement of Democratic gubernatorial candidate Virg Bernero until he reviews his plan, including a possible urban agenda. They’ve had a tough 2-person race for months and Dillon still has to review his former opponent’s plan? This is something you almost never see at the presidential level. No matter how much the loser hates the winner, they almost always make the endorsement quickly, if only to help out their own political career. If Dillon comes back and endorses Bernero in a few days, it will probably end up being forgotten in the long run, but what if it drags on?
