I would say arguments, in general, can be healthy as we all know, but like anything else, above moderation can be detrimental to any relationship. There’s no black and white here because every couple is so different and has different needs. Some people argue as a means of motivation; like without it, they couldn’t be motivated to get certain tasks done. Some argue as a means of antagonizing the other individual and, unless it’s jokingly once in a while, then that won’t work very well in having a healthy relationship. If you’re arguing more often than you have sex, well, then that just plain sucks. What are you arguing about? Why the trash hasn’t been taken out? Why the toilet seat is up? If it’s trivial stuff like this, then the arguing can be easily avoided by trying to fix things when you see them to improve the overall quality of life of the other spouse.
