Is it a good idea to lift weights at the age of 13?
At 13 you are not likely to grow muscles while lifting weights. You are going to have to wait to do that until your body ages another couple of years. Lifting weights will not hurt you if you don’t try to become Superman in 1 week. Start small. You are still growing and overdoing it can cause problems. These two sites should give you some guidelines. I just did a Google search for “weight lifting for teens” and came up with a lot of sites. Invest an afternoon in reading everything you can find, especially from sites that are not trying to sell you anything.
