Is it a good idea to have more than one management node for a MySQL Cluster?

It can be helpful as a fail-safe. Only one management node controls the cluster at any given time, but it is possible to configure one management node as primary, and one or more additional management nodes to take over in the event that the primary management node fails. See Section 17.3.4, “MySQL Cluster Configuration Files”, for information on how to configure MySQL Cluster management nodes.
