It depends what you want to do. If you rent a hall, you’ll want to get that in the books soon and you will probably need to provide a deposit. I am getting married this month and most places required an up-front deposit (hall, photographer, cake, florist, invitations). I think anything is possible. You can get married for very cheap – just depends on what you want to do and how much time you want to spend finding the deals, etc. Things like invitations can be made cheaper using the beautiful stationary that Target has, for example. The dollar store provided a lot of my reception decorations – and it looks fantastic, trust me. Good luck. 🙂 If you want to get married next year, it’s totally possible. If two years would make you feel more comfortable, then that might be the best option! Do what feels right.

If the wedding that you are planning allows this budget then you should be fine. If your wedding is going to be pretty large….100 + people, then I would go with the spring 2010 wedding. Why rush things and have it look thrown together when you can hold off a little bit longer and have everything come together smoothly. If your fiance is worried you don’t want to rush him either. Maybe he has a few personal goals he wants to meet before the two of you tie the knot, maybe a promotion he is working on and not telling you about or building up his finances and 9 mon. is just too soon, I wouldn’t push it. I am sure that there are other reasons why he doesn’t want the wedding so soon. Good luck.
