Is it a good idea to date a co-worker??
There are a lot of rules to follow when dating a co-worker, but it can be done successfully. First and foremost, if both of you are interested in keeping your jobs, you should make certain that you are not in violation of any company policy. Some companies have rules about whether or not dating is allowed among co-workers, and you should go ahead and check any policies for the future – how would the two of you be effected, policy wise, if you were to marry in the future? Even if there’s not a rule regarding dating in the workplace, there may be a rule about spouses not working in the same dept., etc., that could effect you in the future. After that, as I would assume the two of you already have a friendship established if you are interested in dating, then it would be useful to sit down and talk about expectations – and what the two of you expect if you date and things don’t work out.
