Is it a good camera or the editing after that makes filming look professional?
IMHO, you need quality material to start with to even think of editing. You don’t necessarily need $10,000 in equipment to do this, but quality cameras, lighting, composition and material is required. Editing is primarily making sure that the scene segments make sense, like solving a puzzle, with minimal rework on the quality of the work itself. How did those people who did the “more professional looking” material achieve that? You need to dig deeper that Yahoo to achieve this. Knowledge is power! Once you get more of an idea of what really makes things look hi-quality, you can start to repeat it yourself.
