Is Islam a religion of peace?
Some Muslims leaders have tried in recent years to say that the word Islam means peace and tha Islam is a religion of tolerance and love. The Quran however, tells a much different story. Muslims are directed to conquer infidel territory and to form Islamic states, where Sharia or Islamic law is the basis for all government and nonbelievers are considered “Dhimmis” and have second-class citizenship. The Quran clearly says that non-Christian or Jewish infidels and those who refuse the “dhimmi” status and accompyaning tax are to be beheaded. Islam from its beginning was founded on war; Mohammed led raiding parties to conquer lands during his lifetime, and his contemporary biographers have written reports of what he did to captives and those who refused to obey his rule.
