Is Iridology Legally recognized ?
A. In Europe, especially in Germany, Iridology is well recognized and routinely used by natural medicine practitioners. It is also recognized in the Phillipines as an approved assessment tool. Iridology operates in more of a gray area in North America. In general, there are no laws defining or regulating the practice. It is important to use Iridology in a well-educated and appropriate manner. Using Iridology improperly (by naming disease states, diagnosing diseases, etc.) is inappropriate because it is not correctly applying the information provided by the iris. Improper use could also be construed as practicing medicine without a license in many countries. The International Iridology Practitioners Association is a vehicle through which all people who are searching for a modern, research-based education in Iridology can meet or exceed their goals.
