Is intelligence hereditary?

0

It’s hereditary. However it is still possible for two highly intelligent people to have a less intelligent child simply because it depends on the combination of genes that go into that child. What you do with your intelligence and how you are able to develop it depends to a large extent on how your environment contributes. Good well-balanced meals and intellectually stimulating conversation – access to books and an environment that encourages inquiry can help people who are less intelligent appear to be intelligent, simply because they have learned to use their brains more effectively. Others who might have started with a higher IQ (which doesn’t actually change all that much as you age) may seem to be dumb simply because they have not have the sort of environmental stimulation that allows them to develop their intelligence. It has been shown that children who are malnourished actually increase their IQ if they are placed on a more balanced diet.
