Is (insert course here) hard?
Asking if something is “hard” is always a problematic question. What’s hard? If you put me in a dance class you’d better believe I’d think it was hard. But that doesn’t mean it’s hard for dancers, or for anyone with a degree of natural aptitude or training. Generally when I get this question its because some student is looking for a relatively easy elective or is afraid of taking something that might be difficult outside of the requirements for whatever program that student is in. My answer is always the same. Hard and easy are too relative to ever answer truthfully, but the surest way to make certain you get good grades and find your courses arent too hard is to take things that you are interested in, regardless of what anyone else may say about the difficulty of the courses. Being interested in the subject at hand is the best way to keep something easy.
