Is injecting carbon dioxide into the body a good idea?
Answering this question from a biology perspective injecting excess CO2 into the body is harmful as it reacts in the the blood with water to produce H2CO3, which then dissociates to produce 2H+ and C03^2-, this lowers the PH of the blood, which has serious effects on the tissue fluid formation at the capillaries that bath the cell where its more acidic this affects the metabolism of cells where the enzymes may become denatured leading to critical condition of body as homoeostasis is not maintained and a person can die due to suffocation, on the other hand C02 may be good for the body in concentration that have been calculated accurately for example CO2 reacts in red blood with water exactly as explained above however the key difference is that its in the presence of an enzyme therefore we get more acidic environment in the RBC compared to the blood this has an effect causes oxy-heamoglobin to dissociate 02 quickly as the haemoglobin molecule acts like a buffer to mop up the excess H+ i
