Is informed consent required for IV sedation for dental services?
Dental procedures performed under general anesthesia must go before the CAB for informed consent. For dental procedures that require informed consent in which IV sedation is required, the informed consent provided by CAB will cover both the procedure and IV sedation. The local representative on behalf of CAB is able to provide consent for routine dental procedures when IV sedation is required.
