Absolutely. The Peer Assistance Program does not relay information to the Board of Nursing or employers. All requests for service are held in the strictest confidence. • What are the regulations covering nurses with problems of impaired practice? New Jersey licensed nurses are required to report any nurse who is suspected in good faith or proven to have a problem with impaired practice to the New Jersey Board of Nursing. • Is license revocation/suspension automatic after a nurse has been reported for violation of the Nurse Practice Act? Each case is decided on an individual basis by the Board of Nursing. If the Board decides that the nurse is not subject to immediate disciplinary action, s/he is referred to the recently Board approved RAMP program for ongoing monitoring (refer to information regarding this program elsewhere on this website.)
