Is India Becoming World’s Murder Capital?
Just imagine! 50 lakh cases of crime reported in 2007-08 including murder, rape, sex, drug offences and so on. Among it 32,719 cases of murder alone. These are the crime status of India according to a official report. In cases of murder U.S (16,692) and Pakistan (9,631) are far behind compared to India. India has thus earned the dubious distinction of being the country where maximum number of murders take place in the world, three times more than its neighbour Pakistan and double the figures in the United States. The survey revealed that most of the murders take place owing to passion, sudden provocation and property disputes. Even in Delhi, the capital city of India, the graph of murder has been increased by 1.08% in 2007 compared to 2006.
