Is in vitro fertilization ethical?

0

Yes, in itself, I don’t see an ethical problem with it. There are things associated with it that raise ethical questions, however – for example, the disposal of fertilized eggs, the reduction of the number of fetuses when there are too many in a single pregnancy to be carried to term safely – things like that. I am NOT in a position to pronounce any of these things UNethical or to condemn the people who take these steps. I had two easy pregnancies, and I feel empathy for the couples who cannot bear children without the extraordinary means. They have hard choices to make. Also – the in vitro fertilization process is difficult and stressful. Hold a good thought for the people going through it.
