Is IKEA considered cheap furniture ?
It really depends on your definition of “cheap” – it’s affordable and not too expensive, but in my opinion it doesn’t look too inexpensive and it can last for years if you look after it. The reason they can keep costs low is because most items are sold “flat-pack” which saves on transportation costs. It’s much more cost-effective to deliver 100 flat boxes to the store than to deliver 25 pre-built bookcases (or whatever) and these savings get passed down to the customer. I have many things from Ikea, and I have never had any problems with them. they offer a 90 day returns policy if you change your mind, and I’vea heard that they are very good about refunds if you ever need them to take something back.
