Hyper means excessive, emesis means vomiting and gravidia means with child or pregnant. So excessive vomiting with child should cover it! Its actually very serious and as all the above answers say is vomiting all day, every day, leading to dehydration and hospitalisation. I too suffered with my first child and was dehydrated so much my veins collapsed in my arms (not good!) I had attacks which seemed to be triggered every time I worked a night shift and messed with my body clock. My second pregnancy was much better. As soon as I started with morning sickness my doctor stopped me working so I could rest and I drank flat cola to ease the nausea which really helped. I pity anyone who suffers HG as it is really nasty.
