Is Hyperactivity in Children due to Food Additives?
Ever notice how a child’s behavior changes after eating certain processed foods? Artificial dyes and flavorings used in most brightly colored candy, sodas, and sugary cereals can greatly affect some children’s behavior and mimic a “sugar high”. Symptoms of restlessness, excessive talking and acting out have school teachers and parents demanding medication so they can deal with their children’s inattentiveness and excessive behaviors. Kathy Bratby, clinical assistant professor at Stony Brook University School of Nursing says, “Before you conclude that your child has a disorder, take a look at what he or she is eating. Food dyes are synthesized from petroleum, just like gasoline and it doesn’t take much to set off a sensitive child. Artificial flavorings can be made from thousands of synthetic chemicals and some people cannot tolerate them.” Please share this information with your children and grandchildren so their future health is maximized.
