Is hydropower being used world wide?

I can say it is being used in most countries because when the inventor of hydropower died the invention was released from the geneva convention and he could not renew it because they say the arabians killed him in that same year so they can use it. It is not used in the Bahamas where I live so i can only say it is used is some or most parts of the world.
