Is humankind a super-organism like an ant colony?

0

We wish we could be as organized and functional as an ant colony! But then we would be just like AI drones, blindly doing our chore with no question as to why. Fortunately we can think, reason and discern. So I say no, I do not think we are anything like ants. I think a super-organism is probably not one animal or insect but a group that works together to be more than the sum of its parts. Standing alone, it could not survive long, but being a part of a community where all members do exactly what they are suppose to do, supports a long life for every member of the community. Ants are an example. There is an old movie (really old, may be a silent movie) called Metropolis that tries to put humans in this super-organism category. Check it out.
