Is human reproduction unethical?

0

The challenge of your question is in the attempt to establish a universal, constant or absolute. Some instances of reproduction are unethical. If it is unethical to inflict harm onto another human being, then many cases of human reproduction will qualify as being unethical. I agree that every decision by two individuals to reproduce does not include any thought by the participants if the resulting human would want to live and would want to live under the conditions that the two people are in. It is a very selfish thing to do and it does infringe on the rights of that individual. People selfishly reproduce all the time and it doesn’t seem to matter if they condemn their children to early death due to slaver, prostitution, poverty or disease. The legal system just happens to favour those individuals at this point in time. Some people choosing not to reproduce or to delay reproduction does not mean the end to the human species — but the selfish will certainly make that argument.
