Is human cloning ethical or unethical?
On One Hand: Benefits to MankindAccording to the Human Cloning Foundation, human cloning is ethical for the many benefits it can provide to mankind. They argue that infertile couples will be able to have children. Stem cells from human cloning can be used to produce organs and tissue for people that need them. It may be possible to reverse the aging process from what scientists learn from cloning.On the Other: An Engineered SocietyHuman cloning is unethical, according to Carolyn Willson, a U.S. delegate to the United Nation’s Committee. It forces involuntary experimentation on potentially cloned children that might lead to physical abnormalities. It puts the women involved at risk. It strips human beings of individuality and could lead to a society where children are engineered to look a certain way.Bottom LineThe majority of people find human cloning unethical.
