Is Huey Long a Good Example of American Political Leadership?
– Huey Long was both a Governor of Louisiana and later a United States Senator. He came to political power when most people of his state were living in poverty or near poverty. Gov. Long decided to use his political power to help alleviate the poverty of his constitutes. He antagonized the rich people of his state and he found ways to punish those who challenged his idea of what was right. The legislature became his rubber stamp.
