Is hostility towards immigrants in England worse than hostility towards immigrants in the US?

I agree with Carousel. The media is definately the main cause of hostility towards immigrants in England and probably causes a similar issue in the US. The UK likes legal immigrants. We bring them in to work and provide skills if there is a short supply in the UK. However, the media will report that immigrants (whether illegal or legal) recieve priority in the housing system, the benefit system, NHS care, and schooling. They create the hostility by convicing people that those of UK origins are given less of a priority than those who have immigrant status. Due to all the hype and media shambles over this issue I really can’t say whether immigrants recieve priority or not – but I can understand how the media causes the problem by one sided reporting and deception of statistics ect.
