Is Honduras a safe place to visit?
I sometimes hear about acts of violence happening there. Honduras is a relatively safe country. There is a share of violence happening, but it is usually related to other type of illegal activities. We have served many groups over the years without having to go through any incidents. Every place you go, you should always exercise caution. It is probably the safest country in the region. It is very friendly with tourists and foreigners. However, as in any third world country, things occasionally happen. It is highly recommended that visitors exercise caution and care with regards to what places they visit and when they do it. The safest way of visiting would be by having a local who takes care of you.
