Is home insemination an effective technique?
It is not thought to be any more effective than intercourse and might be a bit less effective. Sperm does NOT automatically die when it comes in contact with air depsite what the other poster said. How would men be able to ejaculate in a cup for testing and artificial insemination if it was going to immediately die? I guess she erased her post as it is no longer listed . . . Here is a link about some ways to do home insemination: http://www.fertilityplus.org/faq/homeins… The big difference between an IUI done at the doctors office is that they wash the sperm leaving only the best swimmers and they are able to insert a catheter and send the sperm right into your cervix. You cannot do this at home because you could get a serious infection if the sperm is not washed and threading the catherter takes some medical expertise. Good luck!
