Is Hockey a weekend sport?
Yes Hockey Games are played on the weekends. Both Saturday’s and Sunday’s. The way the City ice is given to us is we get the best times for weekday practices and have met our max. The City has no more weekday ice slots to give FYHA. Remember High school, Figure Skating Club, Public Skate, Public events and other Flagstaff organizations have weekday ice too. So we have to have all our games on the weekends. We also share the weekend ice with all the above groups too. In FYHA we will have 4 House Groups and 4 Travel Groups a total of 8 groups that all play games, we do not have 8 ice slots on either one day, so some games may be on Sundays and other games may be on Saturdays. There is just no way around it.
