Is Heritage Preservation part of the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS)?
No Heritage Preservation and the Institute of Museum and Library Services are two separate organizations. Heritage Preservation is a national non-profit dedicated to the preservation of the nation’s artifacts. The Institute of Museum and Library Services is the primary source of federal support for the nation’s 122,000 libraries and 17,500 museums. Heritage Preservation’s Conservation Assessment Program is supported through a cooperative agreement with the Institute.
