Is Henna a permanent hair dye?

Henna, although natural, is not a great move for hair, especially if you are worried that she may not like it. This is because it deposits metallic salts into the hairs cortex and after this has happened, then you cannot dye over it with any store bought dye. I would personally recommend a semi permanent dye, however as your daughters hair is light any way, no dye will wash out completely and it may have to grow out! there are many swings and roundabouts to dying hair!!! Hope this helps, and Good luck!!! Also, when using semi permanent, i would recommend going a shade darker than the desired effect as it will lighten after a wash or two. If the effect is not liked, then you can remove some of the colour by putting washing up liquid or the old type of head and shoulders on dry hair and leaving it. Hope this is helpful!!
