Is HCL a strong acid as concentration goes up?

Corrosion is a chemical reaction. First of all, when you put an acid into water, it dissociates into its ions. Strong acids dissociate more than weak acids. When you put a nail into HCl, the the iron atoms in the nail react with the chloride ions, forming iron chloride. A basic principle of chemical reactions is that the more reactants you have, the faster the reaction and therefore more powerful it is. Since a more concentrated solution of HCl has more H and Cl ions per liter of solution, it naturally reacts faster and is more corrosive. This also explains why strong acids are stronger than weak acids. More ions are available for reacting in the strong acid.
