Is Hammerite Metal Finish compatible with other paint products?
Most paint systems are compatible, provided they have been applied at least 6 months before applying Hammerite Metal Finish. If in any doubt, test a patch area first – any incompatibility will be evident in 5-6 hours. Does Hammerite Metal Finish have any resistance to temperature? If the item is too hot to touch by human hand Hammerite Metal Finish is not recommended. There are other special heat resistant paints, including radiator enamel available from Hammerite that are resistant to much higher temperatures. Check that you have the right tools for the job and enough paint. Wear goggles and gloves for de-rusting operations, as sharp flakes can cause serious injury. Give yourself enough time to do the job in comfort without rushing – and if possible in daylight. If working indoors, leave windows and doors open while painting and during drying times.
