Is hair type passed through grandmothers genes?

Yes, hair type is genetic, and those genes go from your great grandmother and great grandfather to your grandmother to your mother or father to you. I don’t really know what else to go in depth on here, I mean, it’s a pretty simple answer, the answer is yes. Well it’s a bit complicated. See, as far as traits go, there’s dominant and recessive. You get a 50-50 chance for both parents, so the answer would be no, however there are specific traits that are dominant that may be more abundant in females than males, thus giving the maternal parent a greater chance, however this varies on a case to case basis. So pretty much the answer is no, it’s equal.
