Is green beryl separate mineral or light colour emerald?

0

It’s different from emerald in the regard that it’s not colored by chromium. Beautiful green beryls have come from Volodarsk-Volynski in the Ukraine, The Laghman Province in Afghanistan, Minas Gerais in Brazil and probably a whole bunch more localities that don’t come to mind at the moment. Common color causes for green beryl are vanadium impurities, a combination of ferrous and ferric iron impurities (untreated aqua) and a type of color centre similar to that of Maxixe beryl.
