Is gravity on each planet different? Does it have anything to do with the distance from the sun?
Well, yes gravity is different, and no gravity doesn’t depend on it’s distance to the sun. Gravity becomes larger when a planet’s mass is bigger, and so on and so forth…as a matter of fact, everything has gravity, but the smaller one are simply canceled out (such as you and me when on Earth). Gravity is described by Einstein as the curving of “Space time”. The simplest way of describing the effects mass has on gravity is for you to imagine a since large flat sheet. Now, when someone throws a golf ball onto the sheet, then the sheet curves in around the golf ball. Yet when you put a bowling ball onto the sheet, there is a very LARGE curve on the sheet. Gravity is kind of like this…the more mass there more there’s a curve and then the more things will fall towards it when they come into contact with the “curve”. This is just a simple explanation of gravity…but it is accurate for what it’s worth!! Hope this helped!
