This study examined grade differences between online and traditional courses. This study was done in a community college in New York. We selected 196 students who took both online and traditional course and compared the grades of the students. Students enrolled in traditional courses received significantly higher grades than those enrolled in online courses. In addition, we analyzed approximately 360 courses in both formats from 2001-2006. We found that traditional course grades have increased through the years, while online courses have maintained a constant level.
